
Nicholas Woolf, OBE, KStJ

Nicholas Woolf has focused on healthcare, largely in the charitable sector, and the City of London since his retirement from professional practice as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.
His positions have included Chairman of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group, including being Order Hospitaller for the Order of St John ( 2012 – 2018 ), Trustee and Deputy Chairman, Barts Healthcare Charity (2002- 2015), Trustee Princess Alice Hospice (2004- 2015, Chairman 2007 – 2013), Trustee and Chairman Beating Bowel Cancer (2006- 2015) and for the National Health Service was a Non-Executive Director of Westminster Primary Care Trust (2008 – 2012). He led the Charity Leadership Programme, one of the elements of his wife’s programme as Lord Mayor in 2013- 14.
In The City of London, Nicholas has been Master of two livery companies: the Worshipful Company of Gardeners in 2023/24 and the Tax Advisers in 2009/10. He is also a Liveryman of the Tylers & Bricklayers. He was a member of the Council of The City Livery Club (2019- 2024). He was the Lord Mayor’s Consort in 2013/14.
Nicholas was awarded an OBE in the 2018 New Year’s honours for charitable services and in 2016 was appointed a Knight of the Order of St John.
